At the age of 18, Lisa Long left the farm in central Wisconsin where she was born to study business and fashion at the Minnesota School of Business... and soon landed a job with leading retailer Dayton Hudson Corp. With her dreams for acting ignited by her early runway modeling success, she began training at the area's Old Log Theatre and the Guthrie and Crickett Theatres. Her sparkling talents soon found outlets in a variety of media, including public speaking engagements and voiceovers. Following her business interests to Phoenix where she performed at the Phoenix Little Theatre and did on-camera work in Tucson, her next move took her to Los Angeles. There, after studying under Gordon Hunt, Gary Austin, Mel Weiser, David Lehman and Tucson Rep - including emphases in improvisation, voice and animation - her Hollywood career ignited, allowing her to leap from one great project to the next. Recent film credits include Legally Blonde 2, What Women Want and Cast Away, to name but a few... and she also continues landing luminary TV guest-starring roles on the likes of Cold Case, Monk, Arli$$, State of Grace, King of Queens, The Guardian, Gilmore Girls, Diagnosis Murder and many others. At the same time, Lisa is currently enjoying growing demand for her voice talents, which can now be heard delivering commercial messages for a dramatic variety of national commercial, on-air promo, animation and narration projects. Of her role as Mrs. Lackey in Gregg Araki's dramatic new film Mysterious Skin, Lisa says, "She's a very responsible and yet emotional character who tries to do her best as a good mother. Under other circumstances, I may very well have lived this role," she explains. "Gregg is a wonderfully skilled director with the unique ability to weave stories that are amazingly compelling." |
